Ki Class (7:30-8:30) |
Intro to Taekwondo – All ages. Introductory course covering the basic techniques, customs and etiquette used in the school. **By appointment only.
D.C.S. Classes – Dallas Community School physical education classes are instructed at Parkside Self Defense. Contact the DCS staff for information on enrollment in this popular course.
Kicks for Kids – Ages 7-12, traditional taekwondo and self defense techniques with added focus on building confidence, character and self-discipline.
TKD Bonsais – Tots, ages 4-6, or by instructor’s approval. Taekwondo tailored for developing focus, coordination and life-skills.
Teens/Adults – Ages 13+, Traditional Taekwondo and self defense techniques.
Sparring – Green Belt and above with required equipment. Light-to-heavy contact sparring with protective gear and equipment. Traditional and competitive Self Defense techniques and application.
Weapons – All ages, green belt + with required equipment. Traditional and creative use of weapons as an extension of one’s own body. Attacking, defending, and disarming techniques.
Aikido/Ki – All ages, with instructor’s approval. Traditional Japanese martial art involving unifying mind and body with Ki (energy).
Judo – All ages, with instructor’s approval. Judo is a combat sport that focuses on holds, throws and grappling.
Leadership – Leadership team meetings for instructor trainees. Members learn leadership principles, focused physical exercise routines and a thorough review of Saeng-Hwal Taekwondo Organization forms and knowledge requirements to earn the instructor collar.
Demo Team – Organized practice of martial arts forms and routines for martial arts demonstrations and exhibitions.
